Description:
The Midwest Chapter has been invited to take part in a lecture series sponsored by the Chicago Botanic Garden on Sunday, February 22, 2009. Our chapter will make presentations on the cultivation of rhododendrons in the upper Midwest. Among the topics being considered for the presentation are Hardy Rhododendrons and Azaleas that can be grown in our climate, and general information about the selection, sighting and soil preparation for successful cultivation.
John Golab, John Honkisz, John Migas and Fred Stanton, who all have many years of experience cultivating rhododendrons, are our guest lecturers giving the presentations.
Prior to the lecture, our chapter will conduct it's annual winter meeting. The agenda has not yet been finalized but will include topics about our annual spring plant sale, chapter member garden visits and other upcoming events.

Description:
The Midwest Chapter has ordered the following plant varieties for our 2009 plant sale which are subject to availability. The sale will take place at the Chicago Botanic Garden on Mother's Day weekend, May 9 and 10. Only a minimal quantity (3) of some varieties have been ordered but members of the Midwest Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society can pre-order larger quantities beforehand.
